CNPC News (reporter Li Dan and Wang Qiaoran) On September 23, the acceptance and evaluation meeting of the major science and technology special project of "the development of complete sets of technology for industrialization of large ethylene plant" was held in Beijing. The reporter was informed that CNPC has successfully developed a large set of ethylene technology with independent intellectual property rights, which has been successfully applied in the 1.2 million ton ethylene renovation and expansion project of Daqing Petrochemical Company, ending the long history of relying on the introduction of ethylene technology in China.

He stressed that we should take the success of the localization of ethylene technology as an opportunity to accelerate the pace of independent technology research and development and application, and make greater contributions to the victory of CNPC's refining and chemical business.

"Large-scale industrialization of complete sets of ethylene technology development" special major science and technology project in 2008, the academy of engineering company, petrochemical, daqing petrochemical company and tsinghua university jointly, to develop large complete sets of ethylene technology, break the monopoly of foreign patent business in the field of ethylene, a number of core technologies to fill the domestic blank. The annual ethylene renovation and expansion project of Daqing Petrochemical Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 1.2 million tons, was successfully started in October 2012 and successfully passed the 72-hour full load performance assessment in 2013. Up to now, the unit has been running smoothly for nearly two years, and the technical indexes such as the yield of diene, comprehensive energy consumption and thermal efficiency of the cracking furnace have reached the international advanced level.

The project also achieved breakthroughs in the calculation and engineering design of domestic large-scale ethylene cracking furnace and the industrial application of supporting series of catalysts, and developed the first set of cracking product prediction software in China. CNPC has become the first enterprise in China to independently develop and apply the complete set of ethylene technology, and it is also the enterprise with the largest scale of ethylene cracking furnace in China, making China the fourth country in the world with the complete set of ethylene technology.

Shen Diancheng pointed out that after five years of joint research, the major ethylene science and technology project was successfully completed, and the group achieved an important breakthrough in overcoming the key technical bottlenecks of downstream refining and chemical industry, indicating that China has fully mastered the large-scale ethylene technology with independent intellectual property rights. He stressed that it is necessary to comprehensively summarize the experience of solving key problems in large-scale ethylene major science and technology projects, and lay a more solid foundation for the development of a complete set of technologies for the one-million-ton ethylene industry at the international leading level. The next step is to accelerate the pace of independent technology research and development and promotion and application, to provide technical support for the loss and profit growth of the refining and chemical business, and to make contributions to the improvement and promotion of the chemical business.

Sun Longde, vice president of China National Petroleum Corporation, pointed out that we should make good use of the scientific research, design and production of major scientific and technological projects in the trinity of science and technology, greatly improve the company's technical level, independent innovation ability and core competitiveness in the field of refining and chemical industry, and play an important role in science and technology efficiency and structural adjustment. Wang Shihong, the general manager assistant of the group company, said that it is necessary to strengthen the research and development of key bottleneck technologies, improve the engineering ability, and realize the improvement of the international competitiveness of engineering construction business driven by scientific and technological innovation achievements.
